The kinky erotic promise of the last two books is fulfilled with this entry, where every shocking permutation of alien impregnation one might imagine - and a few more that certainly defied my imagination! - is brought to vivid life. The futuristic setting remains as richly detailed as ever, with a political and cultural subtext that cleverly lampoons today's world, the writing style is expansive, detailed, and effortlessly literate, and the sex is everything you thought a lust-crazed insectoid monster orgy could be and then some. The tone, though approaching unsettling sci-fi horror at times, wavers between reluctance and enthusiasm without ever quite dipping all the way into non-consent, and this story in particular, after a lighthearted peek at Ornella's entry into the program, is all about wild, nonstop alien breeding. Tentacles, ovipositors, and creepy-crawly mating frenzies aren't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but for fans of the genre, this is absolutely one of the best titles out there. And to think, this is only the halfway mark for the Xenofestation series... (Smashwords)
